Terms of use For this site and our intake.

You may use the site to learn about thedata.broker, start an intake and manage your account, for lawful business purposes. We may change, pause or end any part of the site at any time.

We sign you in with a one-time code sent to your email, so there is no password to remember. Keep your codes and your inbox secure.

You're responsible for what happens under your account, including what the teammates you invite can see and do. Tell us right away if you think someone has gained access who shouldn't have. To create an account for a company, you must be able to bind that company to these terms.

Our reviewers and buyers rely on what you tell us. Please answer honestly and completely, to the best of your knowledge, and update us if something changes.

By submitting an intake, you confirm that you have the right to describe the records you've listed, and that you'll tell us about any limits on licensing them, such as customer or vendor contract terms, professional confidentiality duties, or privacy laws that apply to the records. If answers turn out to be wrong, we may pause or end the process.

Nothing on this site is an offer to buy or sell data. It is not a promise that a buyer will make an offer, or a promise about any price, timeline or outcome. Examples and case studies describe the market and are not a forecast for your company. A license exists only through a separate signed agreement.

Using the site and completing an intake costs nothing. We charge fees only under a signed engagement. We are paid a small commission out of a deal that closes. If nothing closes, you owe nothing.

The site, including its design, text and software, belongs to thedata.broker or its licensors. We give you a limited, revocable right to use it as these terms describe.

You keep ownership of your records and your intake answers. You give us permission to use your answers to do what you've asked us to do, including preparing an anonymized summary for qualified buyers and running the process on your behalf. Nothing here transfers ownership of your records to us or to a buyer. A license is granted only in a separate signed agreement.

Please don't:

• give us false or misleading information, or describe records you have no right to license;
• try to reach another person's account or data;
• probe, scan or test the site's security, or interfere with how it works;
• scrape the site or use automated tools that overload it;
• use the site to harass anyone, or to send spam or malicious code.

We may suspend access if you do.

To the extent the law allows, the site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. What we publish is general information about our process. It isn't legal, tax or investment advice, and you should talk to your own advisers before you license any records.

To the extent the law allows, thedata.broker and the people who work for it aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of [State], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts located in [State], unless the law requires otherwise or your engagement agreement says something different.

We'll post changes on this page and update the date at the top. Using the site after a change means you accept it.
