Before you decide to work with us, you should know who we work for, how we make money, who else might pay us, and what we won't do. It's all on this page.
We act for the seller
We represent the company that owns the records. We are not the buyer and we are not a buyer's agent. Our job is to find qualified buyers, run the process, and put their offers in front of you so you can decide.
How we're paid
Small commission on close. Nothing up front.
We are paid a small commission out of a deal that closes. If nothing closes, you owe nothing. The commission is set out in the engagement agreement you sign with us, and there are no upfront fees.
Buyers may pay us too
Some buyers in our network may also pay us fees. When one does, we flag that buyer on every offer, so you can see the relationship at the moment you compare offers.
We tell you because it's the kind of thing you'd want to know, and because it is yours to weigh. You decide which offer, if any, to accept.
No legal, tax or investment advice
We are not a law firm, a tax adviser or an investment adviser, and nothing we publish or say is legal, tax or investment advice. Questions about license terms, privacy law, call-recording rules or the tax treatment of licensing income are for your own advisers. We encourage you to have your lawyer read any license before you sign it.
No guaranteed price or outcome
We can't promise that any buyer will bid, what a bid will be, how long a process will take, or that a license will close.
About the case studies
Licenses closed by buyers in our network, shown to describe the market. They are not deals thedata.broker brokered and not a forecast of what your record will bring. Every record is priced on its own.
Consumer information
We broker companies' own operating records. We don't buy or sell consumer personal information or consumer profiles. When your records mention customers or staff, identifiers are removed before delivery under the license, and certain categories are left out by default. See how we handle data.
